Sunday Service ~ December 3, 2023

The featured Scripture will be: Isaiah 7:14
for Pastor Mike's message: A Birth Foretold.

We will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion.

The First Sunday of Advent

Advent is all about reflecting on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in
the world as it is today. It is a time for faith communities and families to remember...through prayer, reflection, special music, readings, and doing for others...the true meaning of Jesus’ birth.
We invite you to join us on our journey through this Advent season.

Angel Tree 2023

Tags have arrived for this year's H&H Angel Tree. If you'd like to shop for a child this Christmas, take a tag off the tree and write your name on the information sheet to the left of the tree. Please bring purchases to church in a bag or box with the angel number clearly marked on it. You will see a giant Christmas box to the right of the tree where gifts can be deposited. Angel tree gifts can be dropped off here, 9am-2pm Monday through Friday or on Sunday mornings. It would be most helpful to have the gifts here by December 10 although the final deadline is December 13. Thank you!

After a lovely Thanksgiving break, everyone returned ready to jump into the holiday season! We started the week on Tuesday with one of our favorite days - Cooking with Pastor Mike! We made chicken noodle soup and have now stocked the freezer with 22 containers of soup packed full of love and ready for whenever there is a need.

Wednesday brought Christmas decorating day, which was a lot of fun. Thank you to the folks who joined us in spreading Christmas cheer all over the Sanctuary, Great Room, and Café. We think it looks lovely! We still have to get some outside decorating accomplished but we are waiting for a nicer weather day.

Today we had a fabulous time at the theater in Columbiana as we attended Squeaky Wheel Theater Company's production of ELF The Musical. (Goodness Grows' own Keaton Surgenavic is in this production along with GG friends Kaii and Cadence!) If you would like to enjoy the show, tickets are available HERE. They have shows on Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. We promise it's a great way to kick off the Christmas season!

This weekend is our big Christmas show weekend, so Rachel and the gang have been crazy busy making jam and catnip toys. We will be at the Youngstown Flea on Saturday from 9am-3pm and Sunday from 11am-4pm. Also on Saturday is Canfield High School's Senior Class Craft Show, which is where we will be from 10am-4pm. Stop out and see us for some Christmas shopping!

Last week's Thanksgiving dinner was amazing! We even got to celebrate Dustin's 28th birthday!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
