Too many of us are paying too much to the likes of AA and RAC for breakdown recovery services not realising we have cheaper and as reliable alternatives.
But if you REALLY want to stay with the big named duo NEVER accept their auto renewal rates. Pick up the phone, ask to talk to their renewal team and tell them you're thinking of leaving them because they are too expensive.
Suggest that you are looking at Green Flag or AutoAid services (see below) but don't be pushed into telling them how much you could save. Ask them for their best quote and if you're happy with it, pocket the saving.
Some 88% of AA customers and 85% of RAC customers succeeded in haggling according to a recent moneysavingexpert poll so you can succeed in saving money too.
At present AutoAid (see below) is the best offer for full service breakdown cover for you and any spouse/partner. It costs £48.31/yr but this rises to £60 on 15 May, covering any car driven. It also includes homestart ie when your car lets you down at home too and includes onward travel for up to five passengers if you need it after a breakdown elsewhere. The equivalent AA cover costs well over £100.
