It's an odd term to use for a fun experience, but getting 'mugged' by a whale or two, is something we aim for!

It is when they approach a boat to do a spot of people watching. They swim around and under it, or rise out of the water to 'spy-hop' like this one. It actually forces the skippers to sit tight, and wait for the whales to leave before moving on.

The Humpback Highway is reaching its peak, with around a month of whale watching left on the Sapphire Coast. Calves are everywhere, and keeping their mums busy by drinking up to 450 litres of milk a day!

Their 5000km journey is one of the longest migrations undertaken of any species on earth.
