Inclemement Weather Plan

We are getting very excited to see you and your teammates this weekend!

Like us, we are sure you've been following the weather for Saturday. The forecast calls for the possibility of rain and scattered thunderstorms. We want you to be prepared for wet conditions, so be sure to pack extra shorts, shirts, shoes, and socks. Of course, rain doesn't dampen our spirits, the race will go on!

However, with the possibility of scattered thunderstorms comes the possibility of delays and safety precautions. We want to assure you that we have a plan in place and we will have weather monitors throughout the course.

Lightning is our biggest concern at this point, so we want you to understand our protocol.

If lightning occurs during the race, race officials will announce a delay (over megaphones at transition areas and through V2V texts). To get these important announcements, please text Follow @V2V2019 to 40404 (note there is a space between the word Follow and @).

Please keep in mind:
* Safety gear may be required throughout the race during inclement weather.
* Weather delays (30 min) may be announced if lightning or thunder occur and you will receive text instructions from V2V Headquarters.
* If any active runner observes lightning, they are advised to seek shelter.
* Get your runner off the road and into the team vehicle if possible. Make a note of the time and location where the runner stopped. Times will be adjusted as needed.

We appreciate your cooperation and support to keep all V2V runners safe on race day!
