We are very fortunate to have many outdoor recreational opportunities. It is imperative that you behave responsibly. Public land closures may continue if we do not comply with safe practices. Comprehensive common-sense guidelines are provided HERE.

My mantra, “Prevention is much better than intervention,” applies today even more. Please comply with directives so we can be out and about soon.

It is a prime opportunity to see nature at a slower pace and witness the blossoming of Spring. Savor the fresh air and quiet.

2020 Race Series Update

We are preparing for the 2020 season including a full race schedule with four regions.

There may be modifications to the published schedule and format. Various scenarios are planned to ensure the ability to host a race series in 2020. Decisions will be made based on many variables to balance safety, sustainability, and fun.

The schedule and race format will be confirmed as we receive guidance from state and local health departments. We are confident that the community will accept any necessary adjustments.

Staff will implement best practices that support the safety of participants, event staff, volunteers, and host communities. We are agile, resourceful, and committed to maintaining a relevant program that positively impacts youth and families.

This is a dynamic situation, and our Board and staff leadership will continue to monitor the situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding of this rapidly changing situation.

The 2nd Chance Fund Scholarship CPR/WFA Courses

The 2nd Chance CPR & Wilderness First Aid Scholarship was conceived by David and Maureen Taylor. Their three daughters participated in the Colorado League. Their company, Mountain Island Construction, has been a long-time sponsor of the Colorado League and local teams.

In June 2016, David suffered a heart attack while riding at Curt Gowdy State Park. At the time, he was volunteering as a ride leader for the Stone Temple Youth Mountain Bike Camp. Amy Dickerson administered CPR for 15 minutes until medical care arrived on the scene. He recovered from the heart attack thanks to his fellow rider’s CPR training.

With the financial support of the Taylor Family, the Bailey HUNDO, and Team Evergreen scholarships are available to coaches and student-athletes who attend CPR and/or Wilderness First Aid Courses.

Apply HERE so that we may support you and your commitment to ensuring a better and safer community.

Front Range CPR offers combo virtual and practical Wilderness First Aid and CPR courses.
