Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"What a spectacular weekend we had in the Northeast. 70-degree weather and God’s gorgeous sunshine. Makes me anxious to plant my seeds and watch them grow. I will certainly be cautious of March madness weather that sometimes happens here. In everything I will give Him thanks. He has His hand over us in all we do. We are blessed. Sunday I was free to worship at my church while remembering those in Ukraine that are fighting for their lives. Please God, let me never forget to give thanks."

"My Word for this week is “ECHO.” Have you ever been near a cave or by some high mountain rocks and yelled out? What you yelled out came back to you, sometimes several times, in an “echo.” What kind of words are we sending out to others we meet daily? If our words could “echo” off them back to us – what would we hear? If our actions could “echo” back off others that we talk to – would we be encouraged or loved? If we could hear our “echo” back that we pray to God – would it only be give me or bless me? I pray we all ask the Holy Spirit to check us before anything goes out from us in our words or actions that it will only “echo” back to us His love and kindness. Holy Spirit, guide us in your path and teach us to be the best “echo” to others we can be."

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the Sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
~ Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)

First Aid at Church

Goodness Grows just did a first aid supply inventory and restocked the kits throughout the building. We want everyone to be aware of where these important resources are located.
In the closet behind the front desk in the Great Room.
In the Electrical Room next to patio door in the Cafe.
In the Kitchen above the microwave on the top shelf.
Upstairs in the Activity Room in cupboard above the sink.
The Activity Room and the closet both have CPR breathing masks and the closet also has trauma sheers and a stethoscope in the black & red box that is kept with the kit. The kit in the Electrical Room has a tourniquet and a splint. All the kits have basic supplies like sting relief, antiseptic wipes, bandaids, emergency blankets, etc. We hope for no injuries but we try to be prepared, just in case!

News of the Week

We ended last week with a visit from Cameron - always a happyy occasion! In other happy news, Cam has been working here this week while he's on spring break and he will be with us again this summer! We certainly look forward to having him back at home at GG!

Friday was a nice early spring day for a walk. Our crew put on their boots and headed out into the woods for an adventure. They sure do bring the fun wherever they go!

Like everyone else in the area on Monday, we spent the day listening to the rain. This gave us plenty of time for deep cleaning, both upstairs and down. You might even notice that the wall sconces are all shining brighter now! Rt. 165 flooded badly enough that Rachel had to call all the clients parents/rides to let them know what route they had to take to get here for pickup. Kind of a crazy day! We hope all of you stayed safe and dry.

We did more cleaning on Tuesday and Wednesday, organized in the GG office and in the warehouse, and enjoyed time in the woods. We also started our new farming adventure - no till gardening! This involves spreading a silage tarp over an area for about a week, to kill off weeds and ready the soil for planting. We began by spreading the tarp over the compost pile, hoping to reduce the amout of growing plants we introduce into our growing areas.

Today we are working outside, trimming trees and cleaning up near the fire pit. Somehow we have found more metal buried in the ground, so we are back to digging that out. It is truly strange the things we find on this property!

Jungle Jam & Juicy Jam

Jungle Jam and Juicy Jam are available in several flavors at Reach for the STARS in Salem and in Columbiana at the Chamber of Commerce office. We are also glad to arrange a pick up at GG.

Jungle Jam: Blueberry Jalapeno,
Cranberry Jalapeno, Cherry Habanero, Dragon
(Temporarily out of Hot - more will be made soon!)
Juicy Jam: Cranberry Orange

We also have:
* Organic Catnip Toys ~ handmade here, with our catnip, cost - $4
* Dried Herbs ~ grown here this summer, dried by our crew, cost - $1
Sage and Thyme

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
