South Florida's fall season makes outside programming a pleasure. We are hosting the first Hops and History event at Pinecrest Gardens, outdoor fitness classes are selling out and starting the day after Thanksgiving, 11/27 Nights of Lights begins - with even more lights and a new maze in the meadow.

For a change of pace and a relaxing time at home buy a $15 ticket to watch Jazz Icon Dee Dee Bridgewater perform on the Banyan Bowl stage during JazzAid Live on Saturday, 11/14.

We encourage the community to celebrate upcoming holidays outdoors to mitigate any potential for COVID-19 spread. If that is not an option, open windows and turn on fans to increase ventilation during family gatherings that include people outside of your immediate household.

The safest option is to celebrate only with those family members who are part of your household.

Do not be a victim. Car thieves are opportunistic and look for an easy target. A significant number of car thefts in the Village happen to unlocked cars that have the key fob inside the car.

A telltale sign for criminals in some newer model vehicles are the side mirrors, which stay extended when a key is left inside and are folded when the car is locked. Don't be an easy target. Lock your cars and bring in your keys.

Report suspicious activity by calling 911 or 305.234.2100. Visit www.pinecrest-fl.gov/police for more information about the department.
