Don Wehby CEO of GraceKennedy Ltd. will be the presenter at the CIN 11th Annual Lecture Series in New York.

NY: Don Wehby the Chief Executive Officer of GraceKennedy Ltd. will be the presenter at the 11th Annual CIN Lecture Series on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at New York’s Schomburg Centre for Research in Black Culture. The series was created by CIN’s CEO Stephen Hill who commented, “the annual lecture attracts capacity crowds and is the unique forum for intellectual dialogue between Caribbean thought leaders and members of the important New York area Caribbean Community.” Quite befitting, this year’s speaker is another private sector leader of major accomplishment.

Don Wehby’s presentation “Jamaica to the World...The Grace Kennedy Story” will trace the history of Grace and outline their strategy to become a global company with revenues of more than 50 per cent originating from overseas markets. His recent acquisition in 2014 of La Fe Foods is a testimony to this global strategy as La Fe a large New York manufacturer and distributor of Hispanic foods provides Grace with an entry into the US 6 billion Hispanic food market.

Mr. Wehby joined the GraceKennedy Limited in 1995 as Group Finance Manager and two years later in 1997 he was appointed Deputy Finance Manager. In that same year, Don was appointed to the Board of Directors of Grace Kennedy Ltd. and the following year he was appointed Group Financial Officer. In 1999 he undertook the additional role as Chief Operations Officer for the Financial Services Division. Under his leadership he acquired 100 per cent ownership of First Global Bank Ltd.

Don Wehby this years' presenter follows in the footsteps of many outstanding presenters who have spoken at the CIN lecture series. Last year Peter Phillips the Minister of Finance of Jamaica spoke to a standing room only audience and in previous years three (3) former Prime Ministers of Jamaica, PJ Patterson, Edward Seaga and Bruce Golding delivered compelling lectures to the New York Caribbean community. Other distinguished presenters have been Rex Nettleford, Robert Hill, Ronnie Thwaites, Lowell Hawthorne, Greg Christie and Douglas Orane.

The CIN Lecture series has become one of the premier Caribbean events in New York, attracting a cross-section of diplomats, media, business and religious leaders and other note worthy members of the Caribbean Community. Each year the Lecture Series attracts large audiences with each presentation rebroadcast on CINTV reaching the over two million Caribbean-Americans in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. This year CIN will again stream the lecture live for our worldwide audience.
