Catnip Toys

We filled socks with Goodness Grows catnip last Sunday. Some are made with poly-fil for squishy toys, some contain crumpled up magazine pages to make a crinkly toy, and some have a little of both. These handmade cat toys will be delivered to Angels for Animals and West Side Cats.

Thank you to everyone who donated socks and cardboard tubes for our animal related service projects!

The beginning of the month means it is once again time for a big grocery shopping trip. We try to purchase as many Tuesday cooking ingredients as possible to be prepared for a month's worth of recipes. Then we can just dash out as needed to get the perishable ingredients. So, we had a rainy shopping trip to Salem on Monday and are now prepared for lots of good eating!

This week's cooking project was General Tso's Chicken, served with rice and carrots. Our crew did a phenomenal job. The chicken was juicy and so flavorful and the carrots were perfectly cooked, not mushy. It was like dining in a really good Chinese restaurant.

This week kicked off the spring season of classroom visits. We were very excited to welcome back our friends from Salem's Transition class! They will join us each Tuesday and will get to be involved in planting, which we started this week, for the upcoming CSA season. In April, our friends from Mohawk will be back as well. It is always a joy to have all of these fantastic folks join us! You are invited to drop in and be a part of the fun.

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
