Closing out 2023
My 1st full year as an entrepreneur has been both hard and amazing! But God has been faithful every step of the way. He has allowed me to see, my dreams and goals begin to unfold. Here are just a few of the opportunities that came my way this year: Performing at the Ultimate Women’s Expo in Jacksonville, FL, attending the Wilmington Black Storytelling Residency, performances in my community for Black History Month and Juneteenth, as well as the St. Louis Storytellers Festival and the National Association for Black Storytellers Conference in Utah. My son, Ande and I, completed our 2nd“Anancy” book. I secured contracts for the “Literacy Matters” program with the Flint Freedom Schools, Flint Development Center, The Flint Center for Educational Excellence, and I became a Resident Storyteller for the County-Wide Programs. I got a lot to praise God for! I also have to thank my husband Todd, my three son's, my parents and my siblings for supporting me this year as I took a leap of faith. (I love you guys, your the best!)
