Leaders' Summit Recap

Don't be fooled by our weather, riding season is here. Okay, you might need to stick to the road or gravel for now... But, riding is happening.

MN League is thrilled to share
a variety of upcoming spring/summer riding programs and events. Let's get ready to ride, MN!

Reminder, our mission: get #morekidsonbikes! Together, we as a community, will continue to ensure middle and high school students have the opportunity to build strong minds, bodies and characters through cycling, regardless of ability level.

DIRT SCHOOL 2019

Summer Mountain Bike Sessions

Dirt School, sponsored by Giant and Liv Cycles, is a MN League program designed to teach student-athletes the necessary skills to be a capable and well-informed mountain bike rider.

This program is geared for students who have:
* never been on a mountain bike,
* are new to mountain biking, or
* would like additional biking instruction to build their skills.

In 2019, we will have Dirt Schools running in Minnetonka, Stillwater, and Shakopee starting in June. Dates and costs vary by cities. View Dates and Registration Info.

TRY IT OUT SESSIONS

Fun opportunity to try mountain biking!

MN League Try-It-Out sessions are an ideal way to introduce possible new riders to the sport and help them meet other riders on a team. Student-athletes who will be in 6th - 12th grades in 2019 are eligible for Try-It-Out Sessions.

Bring your own bike (or borrow one of the awesome demo bikes available from the MN League bike fleet). At each session, MN League coaches provide basic instruction depending on experience level, they will check equipment, and get a student riding on a bike. Signed waivers are required.

▪ Session # 2: June 12th - Carver Lake

2019 RACE REGISTRATION PAYMENT OPTIONS

New for 2019 is the introduction of a Super Pass payment option for race registration.

NEW! SUPER PASS:
Pay a package price of $150 for all five races + one-time league fee.

Total Cost:
One-time NICA/MN League Fee ($100) + Super Pass Fee ($150) = $250

▪ The cost of a Super Pass is equivalent to the cost of registering online for three races. If your racer plans to race all five races, sign up for the Super Pass.
▪ The $150 Super Pass must be purchased online, before midnight on Thurs. August 15, 2019. (This is the first Pit Zone race deadline).
▪ If a racer misses the Super Pass Deadline, they will need to pay by race.

PAY BY RACE:
The option to pay for each race is still available. Race registration can be done online or at the race venue with a late fee.

Total Cost:
One-time $100 NICA/MN League Fee. Then, each race is $50 (or $60 if paying onsite at the race).

For example: If a racer only can be at 3 races and they registered onsite for each race. Their total cost would be $100 + $180 ($60 x 3). The total cost would be $280.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO 2018 PRICING?

▪ Purchasing the Super Pass keeps the cost for 5 races equivalent to 2018 registration costs.
▪ The MN League/NICA fee changed from $50 to $100 per rider.
▪ Pay by Race Registration changed from $40 to $50 per race.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES

NICA/MN League fees must be ‘paid’ in the Pit Zone by August 1, 2019 - if your racer would like to have their name on the race plate. Paying by credit card is best, or allow time for your check to be received and posted.

Pit Zone Online Registration is open until Tuesday, Midnight of each Race Weekend. Payments at the race are subject to $10 late fees.

PIT ZONE REGISTRATION TIPS

TIP 1: Be advised as you start the registration process:
When a rider registers in the Pit Zone, it will automatically assign a racing category (ie: JV2) based on a rider's school grade level. However, if the rider petitions to a higher or lower category by their coach, the Pit Zone will be manually adjusted before the Race Plates are issued in August.

Pit Zone Registration Help

TIP 2: In order to take advantage of the discounts for being a rider or coach with the MN League, some vendors and retailers ask for proof or a license. Once you are registered in the Pit Zone, look for the License Document section and download your new MN League license!
