In Biathlon News - Olympic Insight

The Competitive Youth Race Team were blessed to have Olympic Biathlete Yvonne Visser join them for two training sessions this month. Her insight and knowledge is invaluable, and all racers and coaches greatly benefitted from her instruction. Despite some challenging weather conditions making the targets nearly disappear, the team was able to put into practice their refined skills for successful training. The team looks forward to working with her again upon her return from the World Cup circuit where she is working with the Canadian National team.

VIBC is hosting the 2nd Club Race of the season on Feb 25th for skiers aged 9 & up. If you are interested in competing at this event, registration is available on zone 4 . First time racers will need to attend a mandatory safety briefing prior to the race.

Input to our International Ski Federation

Dear Ski Friend

As we once again enter into a new year and eagerly look forward to the imminent FIS World Championships in St. Moritz, Lahti and Sierra Nevada over the coming weeks, it is vital that we consider the position of our organisation and our vision for its future. Like many of you, I have a vision of a more ambitious, more prosperous and more influential FIS that will benefit all our members and partners.

As an International Federation, we always believe that we can and should be doing better. To make this vision a reality, we will soon start putting together a strategy to provide guidance to the future of FIS. This strategy will serve as a road map towards this shared success, acting as a tool to help us define what success means for all of our members, as well as guide us through changes that are needed to get there.

It is vital that this new strategy reflects the opinions of our main stakeholders as accurately as possible. Indeed, the input gathered from you will form the foundation upon which this new strategy will be built. We believe your input to be of particular relevance and value to the future of FIS, and therefore would very much appreciate your contribution to this process.

Below, you will find a link to an online survey, providing you with the opportunity to have your input into the overall direction for FIS. The survey process will be managed by TSE Consulting, an external specialist in this area – and this independent management should give you complete faith that your answers will be dealt with complete anonymity and objectivity.

FIS wants to keep developing the sport and the organisation and to do this, we must listen. We would therefore kindly ask you to take 15 minutes to complete the survey linked below:

Complete the survey

We look forward to receiving your feedback and building a stronger FIS, together.

Sincerely,

Gian Franco Kasper
