Dear Laurel Families,

It is with great pleasure that our faculty and administration welcome both returning and new families to a wonderful 2016-17 school year! I hope everyone enjoyed a fantastic summer and I look forward to spending our year together filled with exciting activities!

This year I would like to focus on continuing to build our community by creating ways for families to connect with the school. In the past, we’ve had families that enjoyed volunteering, joining parent groups and/or committees. These groups were always a great support to our school community as they spearheaded important fundraisers like, the Harvest Gala (November), bake sales, raffles or volunteered during the school year for different events. As an independent non-profit school we consistently fundraise and make community connections to maintain our future sustainability. In order to begin to facilitate this community connection, I will be having a “Head of School Coffee Hour”, prior to the start of each Monthly Community Morning Meeting from 8 am – 9 am as a way to connect and discuss ideas about our school and ways to continue to support it.

Also, our Board of Trustees is looking for a new board member. Recently, our wonderful secretary had to step down and is pursuing her personal education goals; we are all wishing her the best of luck! If you are looking for an opportunity to be a part of our Board of Trustees, or have an interest to participate in any way to support the school community, please reach me via email: amy@laurel-school.org or at the office (508) 896-4934. I would love to hear from you!

I hope your weekend was relaxing and I look forward to seeing all of you this week!
Best,
Amy Carroll
