My first sportsman's fundraiser with Merv Hughes was almost 20 years ago back in the beautiful paradisal town of Port Moresby, PNG. I was hosting a fundraiser for AFL in PNG and Merv came up with Rodney Hogg and Doug Hawkins to put on a superb day. Since then we've worked in Bangkok and all over Australia. I've watched Merv become an extremely entertaining speaker and someone who lights up a room and mingles with all guests very well. He's a man's man, but knows when to be the gentleman around the fairer sex.
Merv reveals some of his lesser known nicknames, his hilarious version of the 52.5 cans to London and a real insight into Australian cricket across the past 40 years. One thing that is very enjoyable to hear, is his unfathomable respect for the great AB.
Merv's one of Australia's top dozen fast bowlers of all time, a mad Bulldogs (AFL) supporter and as a young man was described by a BBC commentator as one of Australia's premier fast batsmen!
Merv fills rooms and entertains, a simple formula towards successful fundraising.

Throughout 2020 we'll be winding the clock back to 2010, when Gillard replaced Rudd, Punter was our Captain, the Pies and Saints drew in the AFL Grand Final (Pies won the replay), the Dragons beat the Roosters for the NRL Premiership, and The K Faktor's Ultimate Sportsmen's Calendar shocked the world. Well, our little world.
