Please sign up in the Great Room on the table by the bulletin board. Bring a dish to share and join us after Worship in the Café as we enjoy a meal together and report on next steps in our merger process. The church will provide ham and chicken and we ask folks to sign up to provide items to accompany the meats. We will celebrate together, starting with a Christmas Potluck Breakfast from 9:30-10:50am (in place of regularly scheduled classes and Fellowship Time) and then we will praise and worship during an 11am Candlelight Service. Invite your friends and family and come celebrate the birth of our King! | www.goodnessgrows4all.org Our Mission Statement: To cultivate personal, social, and community growth through gardening, education, and opportunity for people of all abilities. | Goodness Grows had a great time at the Fall Fest! | Last Friday was full of cleaning and Fall Fest prep. On Saturday, four of the clients showed up to volunteer and have fun at the fest. It was so nice to have them be a part of it! We hope you enjoyed their delicious cookies that were given out at the GG table! This week might be our last push to prep the fields and gardens for winter. We have been hard at work pulling out plants and covering the fields for the season. We also took time to drop some pumpkins off beside and into the woods for our wild life friends. A local non-profit that we like to help, The Little Black Cat Collective Pet Food Pantry, is having a bake sale and raffle on Sunday. We took a shopping trip to Salem on Tuesday to buy cookie baking supplies. Today we will be whipping up some chocolate chip cookies to donate to that worthy cause. While in Salem, we also enjoyed a stop for a treat at the Dunkin' Donuts to thank our clients for all their hard work on the Fall Fest! On Wednesday we had a bonfire, roasted hot dogs, and made s'mores. (Thanks to Austin Young for the marshmallows!) It was perfect weather for this type of campfire meal. While the brush pile burned down, our crew also cut back brush and weeds, and enjoyed some special tractor rides. Talk to Pam Veiock for details. ~~~ | | Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley | A complete Thanksgiving meal will be served on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, from 1-5pm and again from 6-7pm for the public. The prepared feast will be served at no charge in the dining hall of the Rescue Mission's building located at 1300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Youngstown, OH 44510. Donations to prepare and pay for the meal are now being accepted at the Mission. Most needed items include canned green beans, stove top stuffing, canned sweet potatoes, and butter. (#10 cans are most helpful.) Monetary donations are also needed. Just $2.47 provides a full meal at the Mission. Gifts can be mailed to
