Hello, Friends!

MOON cover

19 Books for Kids (and Counting)!

Today marks the release of The Museum on the Moon: The Curious Objects on the Lunar Surface, with poems by me and art by Myriam Wares, brought to us by Moonshower/Bushel & Peck Books. It's my 19th book for kids. Hooray!

What's inside that gorgeous cover?

Footprints forever etched in time. A commemorative patch from a tragic flight. Two golf balls, still lodged in frozen dust 238,855 miles away. From the amusing to the poignant, The Museum on the Moon introduces readers to the mysterious objects left on the lunar surface since humans arrived in 1969. Part history, part poetry, heartwarming and haunting, and illustrated with breathtaking graphite drawings, The Museum on the Moon is a moving exhibit of humankind's most famous quest for knowledge and our place in the universe.

Thank you for sharing the moon-love with me!

For those who have been asking me what's my favorite Moon poem, please read "Admit Something" by Hafiz. it ends with these lines:

Why not become the one who lives with a full
moon in each eye that is always saying,

with that sweet moon language, what every other
eye in this world is dying to hear?

Beautiful, yes? And so are YOU.

Love,
Irene
