Important Announcement: Tiny Homes Meeting in Ojai!

First, please accept my apologies for the mass email but I wanted to make an important announcement...

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Join us for tiny homes meeting at Ojai's City Hall! This is your last chance to legalize Tiny Homes as ADU's in Ojai!

WHEN: Tuesday, Aug. 28th at 7pm
WHERE: 401 S. Ventura Street, City Hall

Many of us have been working hard for the past 3 years on the proposed ADU ordinance to include tiny homes. The City has steadily moved forward making modifications and listening to public concerns... The last meeting was a pivotal meeting - Planning Commission gave recommendation to City Council to move forward with the ordinance.

It was a narrow margin with 3-2 vote. Planning Commissioner Chester Jagiello gave a compelling speech in favor of tiny homes, and Bobbi Corbin broke the tie, who was originally not in favor of the ordinance. She said "It empowers homeowners to have a choice."

VOICE YOUR SUPPORT: If you're a local resident and in favor of the ordinance, we urge you to attend the meeting! At the start of the meeting, you can pick up a speaker card in the lobby and hand it to the City clerk. Nervous? Don't know what to say? You can simply give your name and state that you support the ordinance.

If you cannot attend, write a letter to the City Council members BEFORE the meeting. The more feedback they receive, the better.

May this inspire change to legalize tiny homes in your own communities!

Greetings from the Italian Alps, the Dolomites

CDHO1541

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Aug. 28th meeting. For the past several days, I have been trekking through snow and high altitude mountains in the Italian Alps.

Yesterday I came down from the mountains in order to write this newsletter. Yes, I feel very strongly about passing this ordinance. As you may imagine, the internet connection in a remote Italian village is very spotty. But it's 5am in Italy and I hope to convey the importance of this meeting.

All this to say, I would be very grateful if you can attend the meeting for this important cause. Thanks in advance for giving your voice. Grazie mille!
