Teachers representing Baraga, Chassell, CLK, Hancock, Houghton, Lake Linden, L'Anse and Stanton Township met on January 5, 2017 for the launch of the CCISD Tech Academy. The CCISD Tech Academy is a brand-new program created by REMC1 and led by Educational Technologist, Steve Kass. The goal of Tech Academy is to foster collaboration among our local schools to discuss and share technology tools, resources, and integration ideas. Tech Academy will meet each semester with the next workshop planned for April. All CCISD schools are encouraged to participate and join us for our next workshop! This month we are featuring Kyle Timmerman. Kyle is originally from Kalamazoo, MI, and came to the Keweenaw to study Computer Science at Tech. He started at REMC as a helpdesk intern in May 2015 and continued to work here until being hired on as a Systems Engineer.

MeL is a great place for Michigan Teachers to find classroom resources. They have just recently launched MeL Teachers which offers eight centers that will help with site navigation and make important information easier to access.
