Sandefurs

A Note From Mr. Sandefur

Lion Family,

My grandmother always drilled the following words into me during this season, she would always say “boy, you better have an attitude of gratitude for what the Lord has done for you.” It is because of that mindset that I focus on what I am grateful for today.

The words of the Apostle Paul to his disciple Timothy resonate when I think of our families that partner with us here at TKA, " Every time I think of you I thank God for you. I have joy in my heart every time I ask God to help you. I thank God for the joy we share in telling the good news from the very first day until now (Philippians 1:3-5).” Ever since my family and I moved to be a part of the TKA community, you have welcomed us with open hearts and shared the kindness of the Lord with each of us. As we celebrate this time of Thanksgiving, please know that I am personally thankful for each and every one of you.

As we close the campus for the next few days, my prayer is simple. I pray that our students, families, faculty, staff, and all members of our school community are able to rest in the presence of the Lord. I pray that each of you is able to spend quality time with your family and friends while practicing an attitude of gratitude. Take time to specifically voice what you are grateful for in acknowledgment that the Lord is the giver of all good things. When we return to campus our schedules will be full of excitement and activity as we close out the semester and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us as a school family commit to remembering the true reason of this season as we celebrate together.

In Christ Alone,

Jeremy Sandefur
President

Giving Tuesday

National Giving Tuesday is a day set aside to support non-profit organizations. The King’s Academy seeks to honor our 142 years of faithful Christian education by asking for support from 142 donors on Giving Tuesday. All gifts will be incredibly beneficial as we seek to develop servant leaders for Christ. Would you consider being 1/142 by partnering with us on November 30? Donations can be made by clicking here or in the school office. Gifts will go towards helping us achieve upgrades in curriculum, facilities and student life on campus. All donations are tax-deductible.

Please consider sharing this opportunity with your family and friends as we work together for our TKA school community.

Christmas Connection

Christmas Connection

Christmas Connection is about connecting TKA Families with our Residence Life Students during the Holidays.

We are looking for 24 TKA families to be connected with a TKA student currently living on campus.

You will be introduced to your student on Sunday, November 28th at our Residence Life Holiday Movie Night (if you and your family are able to attend). Please provide them with a holiday goodie!

Connecting Families are asked to:

1. Sprinkle your students with holiday goodies between Nov 28th and Dec 17th (or whenever your student is leaving for the holidays).
2. Invite your student to join you and your family for a Christmas outing ( Dinner, Christmas lights, Dollywood, whatever your family loves to do).
3.  Many of these students are flying home for the break. Provide them with a travel goody bag.
4.  Get their family’s home address and send a Christmas card to their family.
5.  Anything else you and your family wish to do to to make them feel loved and welcomed at TKA.
