Winter came last night. It snowed and the snow stuck. Halloween was cold, wet, and windy. I'm glad I wasn't out Trick-or-Treating. Do you think it's too soon to look forward to Spring?

Looking Ahead

I'm leaving tomorrow for Rochester, MN and the Quilter's Sew-ciety. It will be my last "airplane trip" this year. I'll be driving to Ann Arbor, MI and Clawson, MI later in the month for workshops and lectures.

I plan on spending December sewing in my studio working on some new quilts and finishing up some of my UFO's. Then early next year I will be offering one online class and several workshops in my @Home Classroom. Space is limited, so if you are interested, don't wait to sign up.

Online
String Star Class - January 5-24, 2015

@Home Classroom
Crumb Quilting - January 31, 2015
Amazing Puzzle Ball - February 7, 2015

If these dates don't work for you, call your guild Program Chair. I'd love to come and visit your guild!

Fabric Twine

Fabric Twine

I came across a wonderful blog post by Cintia. She's from Melbourne, Australia and writes My Poppet blog. One of her recent blog posts was how to make twine out of fabric scraps. Click here to read her tutorial. Or, click over there on the right to go straight to her video.

I tried it and it's actually kind of fun. I guess holiday presents this year will be wrapped up in brown paper grocery sacks and fabric twine!

Trouble is, I keep thinking there might be an easier way to "twine up" all those fabric scraps using an electric drill. Any ideas?

del-libby

Thirty-three amazing quilts are being auctioned online to benefit Libby Lehman. This is your chance to bid on one (or many) for a chance at some beautiful art for you or a friend as you help a fellow quilter through difficult and challenging times. The online auction ends November 2nd.

Not up for an auction? Please consider sending Libby a birthday card to arrive by November 12th. It would mean so much.

Scooter's Video Picks

Dog here. I have discovered that I may be part seal. Or this seal may be part me. It is hard to tell. We both show affection by getting right next to what we love.

I do this to Mom all the time, except that she has to sit up because it's easier for her to breathe. All the seal in this video needs to do is learn how to lick. Then we will be twins.

Thanks for reading all the way to the end!

Stay warm & happy quilting!
