Have A Say IN TRANSPORTATION TO QUONSET– TAKE THE SURVEY!

Large, suburban development parks have long proved a challenge to public transportation, and RIPTA is working with consultants to see if creative and effective ways can be found to bring more service or other commuting options to the Quonset Business Park in North Kingstown. RIPTA and the Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) are asking people who work at the park’s businesses and industries to take a short survey about their commuting habits. The survey is available online at www.quonset.com/transit-study.

MAY “PINK OUT” A SUCCESS!

RIPTA would like to thank everyone who participated in last month’s “Pink Out” to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the fact that some simple screening test can help save a women’s lives. From our bus drivers (who donned t-shirts splashed with pink accents) to all the folks at the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, it was a great community effort on May 6th. The Gemma Foundation’s pink “Hope Bus” was at Kennedy Plaza all day, disseminating free health information to hundreds of people. We’d also like to thank Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian and Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, Director of the State Department of Health, for taking time out of their busy schedules to help bring attention to this disease that affects so many wives, mothers, daughters, and friends.
