Hello! Happy Weekend!
The highlight of my week was definitely yesterday, when the girls and I and a couple of Hatti's girlfriends went on a road trip (catch some of it on my Instagram story...which disappears in 24 hours). Every summer, we cruise south on the Great River Road to Rush River Produce near Maiden Rock, WI. It's where we like to pick blueberries. There's just nothing like a fresh-picked blueberry! Then, as tradition has it, we travelled a little farther south for gigantic pieces of the best pie at Stockholm Pie. And to finish off our day, a grilled dinner that we all helped to put tother - complete with sweet corn we picked up at a roadside stand on the way home.
What will I be making this weekend? My grandma's Blueberry Muffins with Streusel Topping, of course. They're my favorite blueberry muffin!
My Favorite Things this week... While we were back in South Dakota last week, I made a vanilla bean buttercream frosting - to top a birthday cake for my nephew and two nieces. Now I'm not the biggest vanilla frosting person...I much prefer chocolate. But I pretty much fell in love with this vanilla bean buttercream. And then I ran across an article in bon appetit magazine, where they recommended this vanilla bean paste (link HERE). So I bought some. Because I'm totally going to be making more vanilla bean buttercream!
