Hello! Happy Weekend!
Just one more week until school starts for our two girls. We've been attending orientation sessions, picking up class schedules, and finding our way around school hallways to new classrooms and teachers. I remember not being fond of this time of year when I was a kid. And I'm still not crazy about it. I like having our kids around - and am not ready for summer to be over!
If you live in Minnesota, I'm sure you're highly aware that the Minnesota State Fair opens next week. I enjoyed our own home version of the Pickle Dog (a dill pickle spear rolled up in a blanket of pastrami and cream cheese) and a Grain Belt BLU (a Minnesota blueberry-infused beer that debuted at the State Fair a few years ago) last night around the fire. A strange combination...maybe so. But it just made me smile. If you're headed to the fair, be sure to check out my post about our favorite MN State Fair eats and drinks!
My Favorite Things this week... We have been grilling easy-to-make pizzas like crazy this summer. And part of what makes them so easy is that we use these pizza crusts (link HERE). I like how they get crispy from the flame of the grill. They've made pizza-making this summer so much fun!
