Managing & Supervising the 0-5 Home-Based Option is an interactive workshop designed to assist the managers of home-based and combination option programs in developing and applying regulations and the Head Start Program Performance Standards in the ever-changing and challenging Head Start communities. The institute will assist veteran managers by providing a forum for discussing service delivery models and interpreting the Head Start requirements. The event will also provide new home-based managers with information and skills to be effective managers.

This session will emphasize a systematic approach for identifying, budgeting, using, and documenting the required non-Federal share, as well as the regulations that support compliance. The training is designed to ensure non-Federal entities follow a structured approach confirming the match included in the grant application is appropriate for the program to implement its program objectives. By participating in this training, non-Federal entities will strengthen their program system for using their match to implement program objectives and achieve program outcomes efficiently and effectively.

Developing A Budget and Budget Narrative For Your Head Start/EHS Grant Application

If you are interested in submitting budgets that are aligned with the program approach and service delivery mode described in your applications and understanding the process for submitting for prior approval a budget amendment, this training comprehensively addresses each. Participants will be provided tools, and be involved in exercises, designed to strengthen their skills and competency in those areas. NOTE: This event is a Pre-Conference Seminar of the Region IV Head Start Association 2017 Leadership Summit Conference. This seminar runs from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and includes the Public Policy Luncheon. Pre-registration by June 9 is required due to luncheon. Onsite registration will not be available.
