| Lions Weekly: November 16, 2022 | A Note From Mr. Sandefur Lion Families, I along with Tyler Rhoton, Jared Cartee, and Kendedrick Jones have had the privilege of attending the Tennessee Baptist Summit to share about all that the Lord is doing here at The King’s Academy. We are currently in the process of returning to campus and are happy to report that we took part in many positive conversations surrounding the status of TKA. For those that may not know, TKA is a partner ministry of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and Tennessee Baptist Convention. Based upon this partnership, TKA receives a percentage of the Cooperative Program giving that is collected throughout the fiscal year. As a result of such support, TKA is able to invest and operate the International Boarding Program that is such an integral part of the life of The Academy. We are grateful for the support of Tennessee Baptists throughout this great state that allows us the opportunity to develop servant leaders that will change the world for Christ. Finally, I would like to personally and publicly thank Bill Cupp for his faithful service over the last thirteen years as our Director of Facilities. Mr. Cupp is retiring to West Virginia in order to be with his children and grandchildren after faithfully serving the students, faculty, and families of TKA for over a decade. Please join me in thanking Mr. Cupp for his hard work and dedication. I look forward to introducing you to our new Director of Facilities in the days ahead. All visitors for elementary must enter the front door of the Ogle Building in order to receive a visitor's pass. This pass should be visible at all times so that TKA faculty and staff know that you have checked in at the office. Our doors are open to visitors, but please call ahead of time to schedule conferences with your child’s teachers. This will prevent interruptions to instruction and the loss of the valuable learning time of our students. Adults will not be allowed to wander the halls of the building or hold conferences with teachers during instructional times. TKA family lunch visitors should follow the above procedure. Lunch tickets are $5 each. Students who are not enrolled at TKA are not permitted to visit TKA students during the school day, which includes lunch. This policy has been developed in order to help maintain a safe and instruction focused environment at school each day. Any visitor who does not meet these expectations may be asked to leave school grounds. | | |
