Changing our Giving Platform
We are making a switch to an integrated church management and electronic giving platform. It is called Tithely/Breeze and it contains a secure giving platform recommended by our denomination, the ELCA. Tithely/Breeze will replace both Pushpay and the Shepherd’s Staff church management system. This switch will give us cost savings of over $6000/year as well as efficiency improvements. This change is also in response to a Council suggestion to find a new payment platform better suited to the size and budget of our church.

We encourage you to set up a Tithely account. This can be used for general giving; special events or purchases, such as altar flowers; or for contributing to a specific fund or purpose. You will have a choice of funds that will vary as we go through the church year. You will also be able to track your giving. Our current app managed by Pushpay will no longer be available after June.

Go to our website stmarklc.com and select Tithe.ly to set up your account and to cancel your Pushpay recurring giving select Pushpay.

If you need assistance, please contact Martina Schumaker, at finance@stmarklc.com or 815-398-3557.

Refugia Faith

Summer Book Study - Refugia Faith
Join Pastor Chad throughout the months of June and July for an in-depth discussion of the book, Refugia Faith: Seeing Hidden Shelters, Ordinary Wonders, and the Healing of the Earth by Debra Rienstra. Refugia are places of shelter where life endures and expands after natural disasters. This hope-filled book explores how Christians can become people of refugia for the earth, our communities, and our own spiritual selves. This eight-week study will meet on Mondays at 7:00 pm, beginning on June 10th. When weather allows, we will plan to meet in our outdoor worship space. Thanks to a Thrivent grant, copies of the book will be available to participants at the first session. Please sign up by emailing Pastor Chad at prmckenna@stmarklc.com

Habitat for Humanity logo

St. Mark Supports Habitat
While sitting in the sanctuary waiting for church to start, I thought, “most members have no idea how many St. Mark members live out their faith by volunteering for Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity.” Habitat’s mission is to provide safe, affordable housing for deserving low income families in the Rockford area. Read the full article here.

LSSI Foster Fair
You’re invited to join Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) at a Free Family-Friendly Foster Fair Event on Tuesday, June 18 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Discovery Center Museum.

There will be fun activities for the whole family. The purpose of this event is to provide information and resources about foster care and to support families in our community who are or who are considering becoming foster parents.
