Book now for July's helping of hilarious comedy...
Fri 8th - Sat 16th July at 7.45pm
No show Sunday 10th
Following sensational runs at the National Theatre, in the West End, on Broadway and on a sold out UK national tour, BLT is proud to serve up One Man, Two Guvnors - possibly the funniest play in the world!
A riotous, laugh-out-loud farce, 'One Man..' is sure to repeat its record-breaking sell-out success on the BLT stage and tickets are already selling fast. Don't miss out - book now!
First performed at the National Theatre a few years ago, Sam Holcroft's play takes a complicated, funny, original and sharply-observed look at how our behaviour is governed by unconscious rules.
Highly-acclaimed at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival, Orphans is a thriller exploring the conflict between family ties and moral responsibility.
Full of dark humour and suspense, Orphans is a grippingly dramatic and especially relevant examination of the class and race war that is still raging within Britain today.
The next BLT auditions will be held at the theatre on Sunday 10th July starting at 4pm
Remember, you don't have to be a member of BLT to audition, but you must join if cast. Good luck!
Auditioning at 4pm:
Foxfinder
by Dawn King Directed by Stevie Hughes Playing 23rd - 27th Nov 2016
(Bar production)
'1984' meets 'The Crucible'!
In a strange but familiar England, the government-appointed ‘Foxfinder’ suspects that an infestation is to blame for the Coveys’ farm falling behind in its required quota. His relentless and invasive questioning puts a huge strain upon the couple as their beloved farm is threatened with confiscation.
Dawn King’s gripping and unsettling parable is a dark exploration of belief, responsibility and how much we will sacrifice for ‘the greater good’.
By Diane Samuels Directed by Jessica-Ann Jenner Playing 11th - 19th Nov 2016
Kindertransport follows the journey of Eva as a young girl placed onto the Kindertransport and brought to a new life in England. Simultaneously we see the adult Eva (Evelyn) and the impact this journey has had on her. Haunted throughout by the shadowy figure of the Ratcatcher, a character from her childhood storybook, Eva/Evelyn must face the guilt and regret of her past.
BLT's 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' storms the awards!
It's awards season and once again BLT has been a major winner. This year's entry 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' was very successful at the Kent Drama Festival, picking up the award for Best Technical Achievement as well as nominations for Best Supporting Actor (James Mercer) and Best New Festival Director (Paul Campion). We did even better at the Bromley Theatre Guild Festival, picking up awards for Best Production, Best Director, Best Actor (Matt Platt), Best Actor Under 21 (Dan Ryan), Best Props (Jan Greenhough) and a nomination for Best Set Design (Dan Armour). Well done Team Inishmore!
