Happy Weekend, once again!

Cookies are happiness inducing, there's no way around it. As the winter drags on, I'm finding them to be especially uplifting...as long as I don't enjoy too many!! Last Friday I made Monster Cookies. This Friday, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, I made heart-shaped chocolate chip shortbread cookies. You can find that recipe further down in the newsletter.

One of My Favorite Things this week... I shared a photo on my Instagram story a few days ago of playing a game with my daughter in bed before turning out the lights. And several people asked questions about it. If you like Yahtzee, definitely check it out (link HERE). This game is quick-playing and comes in a tidy tin to keep it all together - we often stuff a couple decks of cards in the tin and take it with us when we travel.

Wishing you a great weekend. We'll be spending much of it at our youngest daughter's basketball tournament. Hard to believe that the basketball season's winding down already. (But that means spring is right around the corner, yay!!)

Thank you so much for joining me here each week, for reading the blog, and for following along on social media. I am so grateful for your company!

Have an awesome weekend!
-Brenda

CRUMBS: What We Made This Week

I like to make these Chocolate Chip Shortbread Cookies around Valentine's Day, using heart-shaped cookie cutters. This year I sprinkled on some sea salt flakes. SO GOOD!!

Here's the recipe!

We made this Queso Fundido from The Pioneer Woman's site for the Super Bowl game. It's one we'll make again!

Here's the recipe.

Have you made my Pickled Red Onions yet?! This is one of my favorite ways to use them - in a fried egg sandwich with a shmear of mayo. The recipe is a refrigerator pickling recipe, quick and easy. And so good!

ARCHIVES: Yum From The Past

These individual Fudgy Chocolate Cake Cups are rich with deep chocolate flavor, and the fudgy texture is extraordinarily swoon worthy!

What's on your Valentine's Day menu? May I suggest Lasagna Soup?! It's the most popular recipe on the blog - if you haven't tried it yet, this would be great time to give it a go!

This spicy little number will forever be associated with Valentine’s Day in our house. The original recipe for Shrimp and Pasta in Tomato-Chile Cream Sauce comes from Emeril Lagasse and is full of his signature {rich + bold} flavor.
