Breaking the Rhythm

New Sermon Series

Begins next Sunday!

How often do we get hung up in the same routine or rhythm of life that we overlook the people, the places, and the ways in which God is at work around us? This summer we are “Breaking the Rhythm”. We invite you to join us over the course of the summer as we break our rhythm up a bit. Come to worship comfortably. Put away your high heels and neck tie if you wish and come expecting something to be different each week as we seek to experience something out of the ordinary!

July 12: Recreation (Creativity)

July 19: Rest (Sabbath)

July 26: Reconnect (Relationships)

August 2: Reassurance

August 9: Renewal

August 16: Rejoice!

Bring ItemsThis Sunday for SUMC to Assemble UMCOR Health Kits

UMCOR Health Kit

The children participating in VBS assembled UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Health Kits for their mission project this year.

SUMC would like to also contribute to this worthy mission. In order to accomplish that we need your help. Please use this LINK to view or print the list of items needed to make the health kits. Lists are also available on the Welcome Table and in the narthex. You can drop off your supplies and/or monetary donations this Sunday, July 5th.

Health kits provide basic necessities to people in the United States and internationally who have been forced to leave their homes because of human conflict or natural disaster. Health kits are also used as learning tools in personal hygiene, literacy, nutrition, and cooking classes.

CPR & AED Certification Training Dates

AED Poster

CPR and AED Training will take place on two dates. One will be held this Wednesday, July 8th at 7:00 PM and the other will be next Sunday, July 12th at 3:00 PM. Pick the one that works best for your schedule. The training lasts for two hours and the cost to you is only $25.00 per person. Each training session can accommodate up to 12 students.

Sign up sheets are hanging in the Fellowship Hall and on the main bulletin board.

Our new AED is hung next to the main bulletin board in the hallway between the Fellowship Hall and the Sanctuary. We hope to have a trained person on site any time the church is in use. To reach that goal we need you to get trained.

Please contact Dave Shelby at 770-599-6840 if you have any questions.
