Miles of Pillowcase Smiles Recap

Hip Hip Hooray! The pillowcases have been totaled for September’s Miles of Pillowcase Smiles campaign and the grand total is…46,257. Wow, that is a lot of pillowcase smiles and if they were lined up end to end, they would be as long as 21.9 miles.

One of the special people who created pillowcases in September was Tanner. He received his first pillowcase after undergoing a 9-hour surgery when he was just 1 year old. Fast forward to today, he is 6 years old and he creates pillowcases with his Nonna as a way to honor his surgery date. According to Tanner’s Nonna, he is all boy, nonstop and has a heart of gold. Just look at that BIG smile!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Did you know, in 2007 Cindy Kerr was named Martha Stewart's first Dreamer Into Doer award winner? That award helped to launch Ryan's Case for Smiles (formerly ConKerr Cancer) into the national spotlight.

Less than a year later, Cindy received the L'Oreal Paris Woman of Worth award which brought additional awareness to our mission. This award honors women who "lift up their communities through service". To relive the moment, watch the video here.
