NICA Coaching Essentials Course @ Collier High School 11/18/17

Greetings Friends and Family!

With the Thanksgiving holiday quickly approaching, please accept our warmest thanks. You have joined us on the journey to get more kids on bikes in New Jersey and our community is growing stronger every day!

It seems like yesterday that we "wished they had this when we were in school". Thanks to the tremendous effort of sponsors, coaches, students, families, partners and league staff, today we are thankful for a successful inaugural season. We are also completely blown away by the league's growth as we enter season two. We have already surpassed student registrations from the entire first season, and we have over 180 registered coaches. We currently have 2 coaches for every 3 registered students. Wow!

Coaches are the backbone of the league, and ours have been working hard to advance their certifications in the off season. Special thanks to Collier Pacers Head Coach and Principal of Collier High School, Mr. Pablo Samuel, for hosting four training days at the school this year. Over 100 coaches attended NICA training at Collier, and we look forward to holding a race on the campus in years to come!

Thank you again for following NJ NICA news and helping us get #morekidsonbikes in New Jersey. #NJNICARocks #NJShredz #NJGirlsRock

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend filled with joy and bike rides,

Ken & The NICA NJ Staff

PS - Small Business Saturday is this weekend. Please consider supporting your local bike shop, on Saturday and the rest of the year too! Our community really depends on it!

Did you know that thanks to our sponsors, we are able to offer loaner bikes and scholarships to student athletes around the state?

To request a loaner bike, the student must be "practice ready" in the PitZone software. After that, parents should speak to the team's head coach or team director, who will send a Loaner Bike Request form. Once the form is filled out and submitted, we will process the request and get a bike to the student.

For those who are in financial need, scholarships are available. We do not want finances to be a barrier to joining our league. Email to receive the one page & confidential application.

The Regular Season is almost here, are you registered and Practice Ready?

Northern Event:
* December 3rd, 9am - 11:30am @ Six Mile Run State Park (Canal Road Lot): The Princeton Progressions, supported by league coach supporters, are hosting a fun ride to celebrate the season! Southern Event:
* December 9th, 9am - 1130am @ Gloucester Township Park (Camden County College Trails): The Gloucester and Camden County Teams are hosting a fun ride, skills practice and fun day.
