AbortionPillDebate

In 2014 we shared with you concerning the controversial abortion pill Mifepristone (also known as RU-486). This drug is used to abort a pregnancy in the first trimester by interfering with the hormones necessary to sustain life.

Mifepristone has been approved in 60 countries and is heraled by some as ‘safe and effective’ in spite of the fact that a study in 2011 by the US Food and Drug Administration reported otherwise. This study reported that there were 2200 adverse effects including: 14 US deaths, 58 ectopic pregnancy, 256 infections, and 339 incidents requiring transfusion. Additionally, this drug has the potential to dramatically increase the abortion rate in Canada through quick and easy access.

Health Canada was scheduled to make a decision on whether or not to approve this drug this month but recently announced that the decision has been delayed until the fall.

Please join with us in prayer and action to fight against the approval of this pill. Please see action points below.

MP Joy Smith Announces That She Will Not be Seeking Re-election in 2015

MP Joy Smith recently announced that she will not be seeking re-election in 2015.

Mrs. Smith has been the leading voice fighting human sex trafficking in the Parliament of Canada in this past decade and has often been referred to as a modern day "Wilberforce." She has also become a close friend of MY Canada as we worked together to fight for the passing of two of her bills.

Mrs Smith will go down in history as the first and only (to date) Parliamentarian in Canada to have two Private Member's Bills adopted that amend the Criminal Code. The reason for not seeking re-election is that she feels she can have an even greater impact for this cause outside of Parliament.

Please follow the link below to read Mrs. Smith's official announcement and about some of her incredible accomplishments as a Parliamentarian.

January 13, 2015 - MP Joy Smith not to seek re-election

Mrs. Smith will be greatly missed on the floor of the House of Commons. Please join us in prayer for Mrs. Smith as she transitions. Let's agree for many more to be raise up to fill the gap she is leaving.

We encourage you to write MP Joy Smith and thank her for all that she has done in serving Canadians. She is a pillar in our nation and we have no doubt that she will continue to do great and mighty exploits in her efforts to end modern day slavery.

FrederictonAbortionClinic

Previous Mortgentaler Clinic to Re-open in Fredericton as a Private Abortion Clinic

On Friday, January 16th, it was announced that the abortion clinic in Fredericton (previously a Mortgentaler clinic) which closed down last year would be re-opening as a new medical clinic offering various health services including abortions.

Access to abortion has been increasing dramatically in the province of New Brunswick over the past several months. Last month, the NB government removed a regulation that required a woman seeking abortion to get the approval of two doctors, deeming it medically necessary. This regulation also ensured that the procedure was performed by a specialist.

An article written by LifeSiteNews stated, "Clinic 554’s new director is Dr. Adrian Edgar, a “transguy” who specializes not only in the killing of pre-born children in their mother’s womb, but also in offering people who identify as LGBTQ “primary care services.” On top of abortion and offering a full range of contraceptive services, the clinic is “excited” to offer “transgender, gender variant, and gender non-conforming children, youth and adults” with “hormone initiations and injections.”

JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST E-BOLA IN WEST AFRICA:

From Faytene Grasseschi

It was my deep honour to spend some of my beginning years in Christian work in the back woods of West Africa, Liberia. The land, the people, and what God was doing there were all absolutely beautiful. Never in my life have I ever encountered a people who in the midst of profound struggle with things such as war, terror, hunger, disease and more had such joyful determination to overcome. I quickly fell in love with this nation and it's people. ... click here to read more ...
