Stand Up for Theatre for Young Audiences: Read a message from TheatreWashington President Amy Austin regarding The Washington Post's editorial team's decision not to review TYA productions, nor publish advance features. Member theatres Adventure Theatre MTC and Imagination Stage have been part of the efforts to reverse this decision. Learn more HERE.

Tonys Seek Candidates for Theatre Education Award (Playbill.com): The Tony Awards and partner Carnegie Mellon University are seeking candidates for the second annual Excellence in Theatre Education Award to be acknowledged at the Tony Awards telecast June 12. Deadline Feb 12. (Read More.)

Production Manager position at the Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (tyausa.org): Deadline to apply Feb 8. (Read More).

Cunningham Commission for Youth Theatre (Chicago Artists Resource): The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to announce that submissions are now being accepted for the Cunningham Commission for Youth Theatre. Playwrights from the Chicagoland area and alumni of The Theatre School are eligible to apply, and the winner will be announced in May. The deadline for submissions is March 14, 2016. (Read More.)

Young People's Theatre Announces $10,000 Ada Slaight Drama-in-Education Award (Broadwayworld.com.) In the interest of supporting and advancing the field of Drama-in-Education, YPT is excited to announce the Ada Slaight Drama-in-Education Award. This award of $10,000 has been made possible through a generous donation by The Slaight Family Foundation which led to the establishment of The Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT, celebrating Ada Slaight's inspiring commitment to young artists and audiences. The REP Receives State Diversity & Inclusion Award (Broadwayworld.com): Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP) is proud to announce an award from Florida's Division of Cultural Affairs through their Diversity & Inclusion Awards Program, recognizing the efforts of individuals working to make arts and cultural programming in Florida as diverse and inclusive as possible. The REP was honored with the award for its exceptional work through its ongoing Sensory-Friendly Series, creating access to theatre for audiences with autism, Asperger's, and other sensory needs. Lee Cataluna's MUD PIES & MAGIC Up Next at Honolulu Theatre for Youth (Broadwayworld.com): Honolulu Theatre for Youth begins the new year with the world premiere of MUD PIES AND MAGIC, an original play-or rather, two plays-by Lee Cataluna. The show is first in a series HTY will be producing over the next several seasons which seek to involve and celebrate multi-generational audiences. (Read More.)

Laying the Foundation for another 90 Years (thechildrenstheatre.com): ​In January 2016, The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCTC), the country’s oldest theater for young audiences, will open a new destination for theater education, expanding its reach into the community.
