Thanks to everyone who was able to come help GG in the woods and warehouse. It means a lot when young people are willing to give up time during their summer vacation to put in work at their church home. It wasn't all work and no play for this Service Day! Rachel took everyone on a walk to the creek and, after lunch, we enjoyed some games before closing with a prayer for the upcoming school year. | Prayer For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you? We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "The rain this week has been refreshing for our wilderness week last week! I pray you all have been restored in God’s fresh rain of His presence. He longs for us to spend time with Him every day! Drop off your bags and stay a while in His presence." "This brings us right into the Word for this week that God gave me - “BAGGAGE.” Made me think of packing for a trip. We try to get the most we can in the smallest space, so we are not charged for extra “baggage.” So obviously, extra “baggage” isn’t that good. There is a cost that goes with it. Often, we carry extra “baggage” that may cost us living the best life God has for us. Extra “baggage” could be unforgiveness, bitterness, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, gossip, jealousy, and even hatred. We need to throw off any extra “baggage” the enemy tries to trick us into having or believing. God’s “baggage” is easy, and His burden is light. (Paraphrasing Matthew 11:30) Let’s get moving on the easy and light path God has for us. This doesn’t mean we will not go through some stuff but through the stuff – God will be with us every step of the way. He will be carrying our burdens and lightening our “baggage” – if we let Him. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you today to enjoy a Light as a feather load!" Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. ~ Hebrews 12:1 (NLT) | August Worship ~ Online & In-Person Pastor Mike Hileman ~ Sundays at 11:00am Join us at church or online via Facebook Live: Connecting Life We're excited to welcome you to Worship, in church and online! | August 22 ~ Outdoor Worship & Potluck Luncheon Please bring a covered dish to share. | August 29 ~ Communion Sunday Collide Kids (Grades 1-4) in Worship | www.goodnessgrows4all.org Our Mission Statement: To cultivate personal, social, and community growth through gardening, education, and opportunity for people of all abilities. ~~~ | News of the Week Come see us at the Youngstown Flea (365 E Boardman St.) on Saturday!
