Service Day With GG

Tuesday was a fantastic day with our Youth! Thanks to everyone who was able to come help GG in the woods and warehouse. It means a lot when young people are willing to give up time during their summer vacation to put in work at their church home. It wasn't all work and no play for this Service Day! Rachel took everyone on a walk to the creek and, after lunch, we enjoyed some games before closing with a prayer for the upcoming school year.

Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"The rain this week has been refreshing for our wilderness week last week! I pray you all have been restored in God’s fresh rain of His presence. He longs for us to spend time with Him every day! Drop off your bags and stay a while in His presence."

"This brings us right into the Word for this week that God gave me - “BAGGAGE.” Made me think of packing for a trip. We try to get the most we can in the smallest space, so we are not charged for extra “baggage.” So obviously, extra “baggage” isn’t that good. There is a cost that goes with it. Often, we carry extra “baggage” that may cost us living the best life God has for us. Extra “baggage” could be unforgiveness, bitterness, misunderstandings, hurt feelings, gossip, jealousy, and even hatred. We need to throw off any extra “baggage” the enemy tries to trick us into having or believing. God’s “baggage” is easy, and His burden is light. (Paraphrasing Matthew 11:30) Let’s get moving on the easy and light path God has for us. This doesn’t mean we will not go through some stuff but through the stuff – God will be with us every step of the way. He will be carrying our burdens and lightening our “baggage” – if we let Him. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you today to enjoy a Light as a feather load!"

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. ~ Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

News of the Week

Come see us at the Youngstown Flea (365 E Boardman St.) on Saturday! We'll be there with jam and cat toys. There will be plenty of great vendors, the pop-up Library, and fun for all ages.

It's Cameron's last week, so we are all rather bummed. He has promised to come back next summer and we are going to hold him to that!!! We will be celebrating Cam with pizza and fun tomorrow.

We spent time this week shredding zucchini for future baking endeavors, cleaning all over the church, weeding and working outside, and we even had five butterflies emerge from their chrysalises. We love butterfly release days! Today everyone is busy getting ready for CSA pick-up. We are so thankful that our harvest continues to be bountiful. Share days are so exciting!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
