The Year in Review
2014 was a great year for Off on a Whim! We met quite a few of our goals, and most of all, we survived the year and grew. Our 3rd year of business was the best year yet, it's impossible to say how many pieces were handcrafted in the studio, but definitely over 500 including pendants, earrings, charms and our main seller, bracelets.
We were challenged to try some new ideas and techniques and I feel my skills as a jewelry designer grew in several ways from perfecting some wire techniques to working with a torch and creating my own findings, and testing out some of my own ideas for designs. The stone collection saw many new arrivals, and new tools for designing made their way to the studio. AND, we had a custom made rubber stamp created!
Looking forward, I am starting January off with a new challenge! Creating my first video tutorial. I must admit, I'm a little nervous about this, I don't feel myself to be a videogenic person, and I tend to ramble a bit, plus my studio is always a bit of a mess...maybe this will encourage me to properly organize and clean it up?
I also want to extend my earring line and branch into more necklaces and pendants, which are always so much fun to make!
And always on my list of goals is keeping up my blog on a regular basis and sending at least ONE newsletter out monthly. So far I haven't managed to keep this goal, perhaps 2015 will be the first year to succeed!
