Die Plasie-JJJ Atletiekbyeenkomsspan

Long before sunrise on Saturday, 29 October, athletes of Merensky High School took to the road to compete in the 2016 JJJ Prestige Athletics Meet at Rob Ferreira High School in White River.

This was a gigantic occasion with no less than 21 participating schools with Merensky, Rob Ferreira and Hoërskool Nelspruit ranking amongst the favourites.

In spite of the heat wave the Plasie athletes burned both track and field. Three records are now owned by Thato Shokane (boys, u.15, triple jump), Anri McLean (girls, u.19, 1500m) and the girls u.16 2x200m relay (run by Sancha van Niekerk and Simoné van den Bergh).

Limpopo North Toy run

Toyrun

We hereby invite you to South Africa’s largest motorcycle ride, and it’s all for charity!
On the 27th of November tens of thousands of bikes all over South Africa rally together to give joy to needy children of SA. Thousands of toys are strapped to bikes and parade through major cities. This year, and from now on, Tzaneen Road Hogs will host the Toy Run for the Far North in Tzaneen.

This fund raiser is about doing good, but also about discrediting the bad reputation that many a biker had been unfairly saddled with.

The run starts at Merensky High School, 6.1km outside Tzaneen, from where the bikers carry toy donations through town to the Show Grounds. The public are invited to join in the fun with super bikes, classic bikes, off roads, scooters, four wheelers and cars. The admission fee is a toy. There will be a prize for the most decorative bike, quad bike, scooter and car.

There will be a beer tent, food stalls, exhibits of motorcycle accessories, jewelry and much more to enjoy.

Come and join Tzaneen Road Hogs and make this Toy Run the biggest Limpopo has ever seen.
