Ride Aloha for Maui

Bikes For Maui

HBL sends our condolences to everyone who has been impacted by the wildfires on Maui. We want to help get bicycles to those in need, whether that’s as a means of transportation, a source of recreation, or a way to put a smile on a kid's face. There is currently a shipping container on its way from the mainland with over 300+ donated new bicycles. We’re helping fundraise to cover the cost of shipping, with any extra funds going towards getting more bicycles. We’re also working with some Maui and O‘ahu bike shops to accept donated bicycles and get them into the hands of those in need. Learn more at HBL.org/BikesForMaui.

Bike Lane Maintenance Menehune

HBL is working with the City’s Department of Facilities Maintenance (DFM) to help keep our protected bike lanes in good shape. In addition to scheduling general clean-ups, we’re looking for individuals who are interested in helping with more hands-on tasks like replacing bollards and installing tough-curbs. This will involve training from DFM as well as the use of power tools, and ideally individuals can commit to regular/monthly volunteer assistance. If you are interested, please email advocacy@HBL.org to learn more!

Feedback Deadline Extended! What Transportation Future Do You Want?

Should O‘ahu work towards building safe bicycling facilities or more places with free parking? Do you value speed & convenience over traffic safety & overall city-livability? If you think the way you travel could be improved in any way, please share your input by completing this survey. Extended deadline: SEPT. 10, 2023.

The Oʻahu Regional Transportation Plan (ORTP) is a long-term document that outlines transportation goals, objectives, policies, and projects for Oʻahu and is updated every 5 years. This plan will help shape decisions made around transportation for the years to come, so make sure your voice is heard. Take the survey here.
