Spirit has now chosen gratefulness as our mantra to wrap up 2022 and to initiate 2023. That's powerful, . There's nothing like repetition to drive something home, especially when it comes to endings and beginnings. I mentioned in the subject line that I have important news to share with you and the entire BeneFIT community and it has to do with BeneFIT's ending.
BeneFIT is Closing Its Doors
Today will be BeneFIT's last day in business. Actually, I'm trusting that, since I haven't heard otherwise, there will not be crews in to clear out the space until Monday. I must say that my handling of this situation has been far less than what it should have been. To say "I'm sorry", though of course it's true, just doesn't do it. Denial, procrastination, fear of facing disappointment coupled with a last ditch hope that the landlord would grant a grace period so that I could do what I should have done long ago, have led to the predicament I have put us all in now. I'm sure he had no idea where I was or what I was dealing with, but his notice to me that it was time for BeneFIT to leave its space came through on the day of my friend's memorial service in California. There I was attending to the painful, frustrating and still incomplete guardianship issues of my friend's 15 year old daughter who's now an orphan and I simply didn't have the bandwidth to deal with it at the time. I moved BeneFIT's (my baby's) concerns to the back burner to deal with later and then never did. I have only myself to blame.
Since gratefulness is our mantra for the day, I'd like to say that we all have my landlord to thank for BeneFIT being able to stay open as long as it has post Covid. I have been teaching 10+ classes a week (which is a full time job in and of itself) in order to keep the doors open and a roof over my head at home. Despite that, without the minimal rent he's allowed from me I would have had to close the doors long ago. I am very grateful that he's been as kind and generous as he has over these last few years and I hope that you're grateful that BeneFIT has been there for you. That gratitude is all due to him.
I do have more on gratitude in the Mantra Word for the Day section below. But I have a couple announcements.
Refunds on Memberships and Packages
First, I have a big mess to clean up with all of BeneFIT's active studio members. While I have 500-600+ of you who read these emails every day, I guarantee you that only a small percentage are actively attending and paying for yoga. For them, unless or until we can find a new location with a room we can turn into a "hot box" for yoga before then, I will need one week, until January 9th, to get everything in order so that I can initiate refunds for the unused time and classes on the active packages. I pray that you or they will all be gracious enough to grant me that time.
And second . . .
Tonight's Sound Experience is Full
In each of these events we've held, there have been last minute cancellations and/or no shows. So being that this is your last opportunity to partake in this event, if it's something you'd like to do, click on one of the links below and get onto the waitlist.
I will be at the studio all day today cleaning things up and available to answer questions and listen to your sentiments, whether they may be.
