Just some of the beautiful soaps Kenna will be teaching in October!

Hello Friends,

In this edition of The Nova News a brand-new boot camp has been posted online and early bird registration has begun. We have collaborated with Kenna on yet another brand-new series: the 3-Day “Next Level” Soapmaker’s Boot Camp, on October 10-12, 2015.

On day 1, Kenna will cover: 6 batches with very interesting combinations: Cucumber & Aloe, Pumpkin & Chai, Dead Sea Mud & Seaweed Brine, Bloody Mary, Mimosa, & Irish Coffee. On day 2, she'll make 4 batches with crazy cool design techniques: Spoon/Impressionist, Hanger Swirl, Drop Swirl, Tiger Stripe, Column Pour, Faux Funnel, Petal, Peacock, and Linear Swirl. On day 3 Kenna will discuss ways to increase your profits by Getting Your Soap to Market (More Quickly) & even Boosting Your Bottom Line by Teaching Classes! Check out our website for all the soapy details.

The release of this brand-new series comes right on the heels of the news that her original boot camp at the end of THIS month, 6/26-6/28, has no FULL boot camp spots left. Call us at 510-234-5700 to get your name on the waiting list, or sign up for individual classes, by using the links below:

One of Lori's favorite parts of making soap in large slab molds is that when you cut into them it reveals a mirror image that often looks like faces, patterns, or flowers! Check out these beautiful split soap “art” loaves. It’s kind of reminiscent of a Rorschach test, isn’t it? What do you see in her soap logs?

Got some cool Rorschach split logs of your own? Post links in the comments of our blog post or on our Facebook page!

Coloring Soap with Confidence

Many people make good handcrafted soap that feels great on the skin. But what sets yours apart from the rest? Does your natural soap end up a shade of tan, off white or gray? A beautifully colored soap attracts attention and practically sells itself. Do you know the difference between dyes and pigments? Do oxides morph or bleed in cold process soap? What’s a lake color? After studying this eBook, you’ll choose colors for your soap confidently and have predictable outcomes. By controlling and playing with color, you can easily turn your ho-hum bars into mini-works of art!

Learn from Lori Nova Endres, two-time award winner and four-time speaker at the Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetics Annual Conferences. Read about the pros and cons of colors used for soapmaking like Pigments (Oxides, Ultramarines), Dyes (LabColors, Soapalooza, Gel Tones), Lakes, Neons, Pop Micas, and last but not least, the Naturals (Clays, Herbs & Spices).

The information you receive in Color with Confidence will also help you color ALL COSMETICS. Once you understand what makes each of the colors different, you should be able to better predict how they will react in different mediums. This eBook will not only inform, but also inspire you to bring more color into your products!

For a limited time (just until June 16) you can save $6 off Lori's "Coloring with Confidence" eBook.

Regular Price $25 | Sale Price $19
