Changes in Sapphire Coast Tourism Services

Dear Sapphire Coast Tourism Industry and Stakeholders,

As many would be aware destination management services for Sapphire Coast, delivered on behalf of Bega Valley Shire Council, change this week.

My company, Sapphire Coast Destination Marketing (SCDM), will commence a four year contract delivering tourism services to the Bega Valley Shire Council.

SCDM's broad objective under the tender will be to deliver destination marketing, development and regional leadership activities to grow the local visitor economy. A yearly activity plan defining specific actions, projects, tasks and campaigns will be completed in the coming months. This activity will be informed by the Sapphire Coast Destination Management plan currently being completed.

I am thrilled with the opportunity to continue to work closely with Sapphire Coast industry and partners to help build our visitor economy.

With regard to the change here are some key points;

▪ For visitors there will be no change in destination marketing with all Sapphire Coast marketing assets - websites, domain names, brand names, social media channels, collateral etc being transitioned for management by SCDM under the new contract.
▪ Likewise, for industry partners and stakeholders, there will be little change as I continue to manage the business and build on the strategic foundations built by Sapphire Coast Tourism.
▪ Cruise Eden management will become the responsibility of Port Authority of NSW (PANSW) with Natalie Godward joining Port Authority in the role as Cruise Development Manager. SCDM will work closely with Natalie and PANSW ensuring return visitor and experience development opportunities are fully leveraged and align with destination planning.
▪ Important experience and industry development work will continue with grant funding from the Regional Jobs and Investment Program. This will be a significant program over the next 18 months
▪ The successful DNSW Unspoilt South Coast campaign collaboration, digital marketing and PR initiatives continue to be supported.

I would also like to thank the Sapphire Coast Tourism board for their selfless contribution to our destination over many years, and in particular setting such a solid strategic framework for the destination to build on. Their work will continue to drive us forward as a destination.
