"I love the weather we have been having – so happy – so sunny – so fabulous! Honestly, I wish every day was just like today outside – almost perfect. I do love the seasons but as I get older, I am getting more eager to spend it in sunnier days. Every day is still a blessing no matter the weather. If we keep our eyes on the Son – everything will be sunny!" "My WORD for the week is “LEGACY.” With Mother’s and Father’s Day coming up, I have been reflecting on how blessed I am to have such a “legacy” from my mom and dad. I realize not everyone was as blessed as others and possibly their “legacy” was not so good. But the great thing about that is – you can leave your own “legacy” to others that come after you. No matter what. What an honor and privilege it is to be able to leave behind wonderful memories, morals, love, and respect for others, a servant’s heart, and an example of Jesus’ kind of love – the perfect “legacy” left for us. I often tell others when I speak of my dad that is in heaven, I don’t have one bad memory of him – not one. The “legacy” he and my mom left for me to follow in was so special and I am so thankful for that. Growing up and all the complaining about having to go to church so much – well it is a blessed memory now. I wouldn’t trade any of it. Let’s stop and examine ourselves today – what will our “legacy” be when we are gone? I pray we can all say – it will be a blessed one! Have a spectacular week!" “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." ~ Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NKJV) ~~~ | May Worship ~ Online & In-Person Pastor Mike Hileman ~ Sundays at 11am Pastoral Intern Austin Young will be preaching on May 28. It has been a very exciting week here at GG. With their college classes finished for the semester, both Cameron and Keaton have returned! Welcome home, gentlemen! So glad to have you back! This week we were able to carry plants outside from the greenhouse, starting to get them hardened for the transplanting time to come. Our crew has also been busy uncovering our fields and butterfly garden from their long winter slumber. On Tuesday we split the group, sending some to the kitchen for jam making and the others to Dustin's Uncle Ronnie's to fill water storage cubes with good water for our NFT system for growing hydroponic lettuce. (Thanks, Ronnie, for your help and generosity!) Then on Wednesday we started building pea trellises out of branches so our delicious peas will be able to climb and grow tall. Soon there will be so much growing going on! | Wildlife abounds out here in North Lima. While working in the field, we uncovered and admired two beautiful snakes. We enjoyed a butterfly release after having an unexpected hatching. We also had a great time with Jameson the goat. For years we have battled comfrey in our gardens. We have had supposed comfrey-eating goats here before, but they didn't believe in actually eating it. Jill came up with the idea of inviting Jameson here to try again...and it worked! Former intern Brin and Mike Ashby's daughter Analise are the lucky owners of this brilliant goat. They generously brought him here for his comfrey feast. Thanks Brin and Analise, and Miss Jill, too!
