Burton Electronics Manufacturing Site Visit--Aug. 25

STEM Educator Externships: Advanced Manufacturing

Educators of the Western Upper Peninsula had the opportunity to visit three advanced manufacturing facilities this summer; L'Anse Manufacturing, Calumet Electronics and Burton Electronics Manufacturing.

Participants received a first-hand look on how STEM skills, including computer science, are used in our community, what skill sets employers are looking for and what job opportunities are available in our region. We had a lot of fun visiting these facilities, talking with the employees, and learning about advanced manufacturing. Thank you to all the educators that joined us and thank you to the businesses for hosting us!
