Sunday's Service - August 30, 2020

In-Person & Online @ 11am

Worship will take place outside this Sunday, in front of the church at the raised bed garden area.

We will celebrate the Sacrament of Communion, in-person and online.

Pastor Mike will be starting a new Sermon Series this week:

We've all heard the phrase "In Christ," but what does that mean?
Being "In Christ" is one of the New Testament's most used phrases and
is both theologically rich and practically important.

When you are In Christ, all that is true of Him changes what is true of you.
Not only are we going to unpack what it means to be In Christ, we are also going to
unpack what this looks like in the life of a Christ follower. Please join me as we journey to
discover what God's Word says to those who are "In Christ." - Pastor Mike Hileman

Children's Ministry

Collide Kids Wednesday ~ In this week's lesson, we learn that we can overcome fear with God's help, faith in Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. You can do whatever God wants you to do, fearlessly!

The lesson comes from 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline."

Join Collide Crew Leader Delania and spend some time with your child(ren) singing, dancing, laughing, and learning! We would love for you to also have your child memorize this week's scripture verse and motions and upload a video of them in the comment section on Facebook! Have a great week, Collide Kids!

This week's discussion question - What's a weird dream you've had? We'd love to hear your answers! Feel free to let us know by email or on Facebook.

Youth Group

Due to COVID, this youth group season will not look like it normally does. We will keep you posted as we make decisions. Youth Group is open to kids in 5th through 12th grade. Parents, we have a YG permission waiver we need you to fill out next time you're here.

Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

Whenever you have a prayer request, please don't hesitate to send it in! We are here to pray with and for you. Please take a minute to send in your prayer needs by early Monday mornings for inclusion in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Today's encouragement comes from Darla Smith. Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing Darla's uplifting words with us.

"This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice! I pray this finds you all doing exceptionally well. God is certainly good to us all. His blessings are countless every day!"

"God gave me a word this week that has a lot to do with our current situation going on around us. SEPARATE - cause to move or be apart. We are asked to wear a mask to keep others and ourselves protected from a virus. We feel separate when we feel grief with the loss of someone dear. We may feel separate when one of our kids goes off to college or is away from us. We may feel separate when our spouse may need to go away for a job. We may feel separate when we are not able to go to church and fellowship like we used to. Sometimes you may even feel separate in your own home. Whatever the case may be I am here to tell us all - NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD! He will never leave us or forsake us. He loves His children with an everlasting love. Let us all feel His love right now. No matter where you are or what you are doing, He is giving us His hugs right now. I heard a song today that confirmed my word for us this week. Listen to it if you get a chance. Matthew West - The God Who Stays. Be blessed this week. Remember, God loves you!"

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV)

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
