December 2019 Prayer Letter

We greet you in Jesus’ name. Every month or so we will send this prayer email to you, letting you know the most effective way you might pray for us. We do hope you will consider All Souls Anglican for your personal prayers that this new mission for the gospel may continue faithful to the gospel.

This Coming Sunday:

Join us this Sunday on the Fourth Sunday in Advent at 4:00 PM for Evensong. The sermon text is Isaiah 8.16-9.1-5 entitled “From Darkness to Light”, the fourth of a five-part Advent sermon series on the texts selected by Charles Jennens, lyricist of Händel’s Messiah part one.

It encourages us deeply to know that you are praying for us. We look forward to sharing with you how God answers. Here is our latest update.

Please use the buttons at the bottom of our newsletter to share with your network(s) among the saints of God to increase our prayer support.

Join us this month as we raise our voices in THANKSGIVING and in PRAYER to our heavenly Father because:

   •    After five years joining with our hosts in a Christmas Eve carol service at 6:00PM, our members wanted to gather for a more Anglican Christmas Eve Holy Communion with carols and an evangelistic sermon preached with non-Christian guests in mind at 8:00PM. I will be encouraging our members to think about people they could invite to this service. Give THANKS for the opportunity provided by Christmas to preach the gospel. ASK God to bring non-Christian guests to All Soul’s worship, and pray for eyes to be opened to Christ’s glory.

   •    Tomorrow I'm continuing a sermon series on Advent scripture texts from Händel’s Messiah. Please PRAY that God would help me make quick progress in my preparation, and that tomorrow's sermon would reveal God's grace and stir us up for his service.

   •    In December I’ll be preparing our 2019 State of the Parish report for our annual parish meeting in January. Give THANKS that our internal giving has held up this year despite the departure of a core church family. Please PRAY for God to help us draft an honest and informative report of the parish, and that he would move people to continue supporting us generously in our internal giving.
