Is it really almost the official start of summer? Our gardens are growing, our air conditioning is on, and we're hard at work creating fun and flavorful recipes to keep our families---and yours---well fed and well hydrated as the mercury rises!
Here are our latest Meal Makeover Mom highlights and our newest recipes:
After Liz returned from visiting her sister in Switzerland, we recorded a podcast all about her adventures and cooked up a vegetarian recipe for Asparagus Quiche. (White and green asparagus were in season while Liz was in Zurich.) We felt very "Martha" with our asparagus design.
To solve your most vexing mealtime dilemmas, we invited fellow dietitian, Sally Kuzemchak from Real Mom Nutrition to be a guest on our podcast. Sally released Cooking Light Dinnertime Survival Guide this spring (we're giving away a copy!), and she was kind enough to share two of her favorite recipes with us: Asian Lettuce Wraps and Pasta Primavera with Zucchini, Cherry Tomatoes, and Ricotta.
In other MMM news, Janice's daughter, Carolyn, just graduated from college (and yes, she has a job!!), and we're both hard at work guest blogging for Parade Magazine and writing articles for a new WIC publication called, Live Well Digest. More on the Digest in our next newsletter.
And just in time for July 4th, next week on our blog we'll be posting a roundup of our favorite picnic recipes AND sharing a Hawaiian Punch makeover recipe. Be sure to visit Meal Makeover Moms' Kitchen for the recipes. Happy July 4th everyone!
