MCTC juniors Colin Angell & Michael Szabo repeated high school individual state championships in their Division II flights.
Colin Angell won the # 2 singles crown, stopping Ben Orwin, Portage Central, 6-3, 6-4. Michael Szabo at # 3 singles defeated Justin Minzlaff, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern, 6-4, 6-1.
Szabo went undefeated for the season 37-0. This was his third state title. Dow’s # 1 doubles team of Cole Williamson and Daniel Magno were finalists.
Division II Dow High tied for 3rd place. Division I Midland High finished 15th. Forest Hill Central won the Division II team title. Rosters of both high school teams are primarily juniors in our TTP—Tournament Training Program, Steve Host Director.
