Garden & Nursery News

Jen Lynch will be in the Garden this week, with a lesson about counting on God even when a situation looks too big to handle. Activity pages will be on the table by the Sanctuary doors. Children 3 & younger are invited to the Nursery for Bible story time.

Congregational Meeting

This year's annual meeting elected one new member to Session. Thank you to Rachel Vignon for being willing to serve on our leadership once again! The meeting was full of information and discussion about our church home. We thank everyone who was able to participate, for their time as well as for their thoughtful questions and remarks. We look forward to moving ahead together as a church family, as we work to discern what the future holds for us. If you have any questions or ideas to share, please talk to any member of Session anytime.

Youth Group

No YG this Sunday. Enjoy the long Presidents' Day weekend (and the Daytona 500) at home with your family! Hope to see you next week at our regular Youth Group time!

Last Sunday we spent time in our Black Letters of Jesus curriculum, discussing why sad things happen to all of us. As always, our youth had plenty of insightful thoughts. Then we dove into some high-spirited game play to wrap up our evening.

We are pleased that our property will be getting used by special guests this weekend! We pray that the boys and their leaders have a weekend full of fun and safety at Common Ground.

Movie Night ~ Rescheduling Needed

We do not want to cancel our evening of family movie fun, but we do need to reschedule. Due to unplanned scheduling conflicts, our "techy" folks who would be running the movie are all unavailable on March 1st. Now we go back to the drawing board for a date. Keep an eye out here for the new date to be announced. Sorry for any inconvenience! A date change does give you more time to sign up on the bulletin board to vote for one of three movie selections.

Winter at GG

On Monday, we spent time at Whispering Pines. We had fun helping to decorate for their Valentine's Dance and learning how to fold napkins. This week also brought cookie making, celebrating Tori's birthday, a trip to Menard's for jam jars, cleaning the church, and more!

GG Restaurant Fundraisers

Some of our area restaurants have programs that allow you to dine in and earn money for non-profit organizations. We have an event at BJ's in March and Chipotle in April. Grab a flyer (or several) from our GG table, share with your friends, and eat dinner out for a great cause to help Goodness Grows earn money for our programs. Every dollar counts!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
