The Global Pandemic Preparedness Treaty and the new International Health Regulations from the World Health Organization could be signed and ratified by the end of this month.
The impact of this action poses a significant threat to the rights of Canadians -- essentially putting aspects of our healthcare into the hands of global agencies.
To date the Canadian Government has not provided our elected officials the forum to bring forth the opinions and concerns of their constituents on this matter. To combat this, Dr. Leslyn Lewis sponsored a petition on the issue and it received almost 19,000 signatures. The petition is now closed, but you can read the text here.
ACTION POINT:
Please take a moment to email your Member of Parliament and Prime Minister, and urge the government not to sign onto the treaty or vote for the amendments until Canadians can be informed and this can be adequately debated in Parliament.
