Meet our friendly new team members

Kirsty

You may have noticed some personnel changes on reception recently, let us introduce Kirsty and Mel.

Kirsty is our newly appointed Client Relations Manager, her wealth of experience in the pet industry stands her in good stead to ensure all your visits to us run smoothly and efficiently.

She has qualifications in animal behaviour and worked as a zookeeper with the big cats in NZ.

Kirsty is loving meeting all our gorgeous patients, and would like to encourage any feedback or suggestions, so that we can better meet your needs.

Mel

We're also delighted to welcome Melissa to our team. She has many years of local veterinary experience as a nurse and wildlife carer and now as our receptionist.

Mel recently worked as a veterinary technician for several years in New York, where she also established an international pet adoption program, worked with the ASPCA and the Angel on a Leash therapy dog program.

Here she is with Bear, her beloved Cockapoo from Iowa, he's a qualified therapy and service dog. What a couple of stars!

CHOCOHOLICS TAKE NOTE

The weeks ahead can be full of temptation for those of us who are partial to chocolate.

Pets (dogs in particular) are also attracted to chocolate, but unfortunately this can have deadly results. The theobromine and caffeine found in chocolate are toxic to our pets and can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, heart problems and even seizures.

The risk and symptoms seen will vary with the amount and type of chocolate consumed. Keep this handy calculator bookmarked in the event your pet indulges and call us immediately. Better still, keep chocolate out of your pet's reach this Easter!
