Enter Kemberli Sargent. Back in September the Sustainability Center hooked us up with Kemberli through their Sustainability Internship Program. Groundswell Mentor Donn Hewes of Northland Sheep Dairy is one of the featured farmers in this outstanding video series.
For the past 7 years our partner the Northeast Beginning Farmer Project has developed lots of great resources for beginning farmers. Many Groundswell trainees have benefited from watching the wonderful online videos they have produced. Many of the videos feature Groundswell's Mentor Farmers.
From now 'til to the end of the year, Northeast Beginning Farmer Project is raising funds via an Indiegogo Campaign to produce more clips on growing tree fruits, farming with draft animals, and building and growing veggies in high tunnels. If you'd like to support this project, visit their Indiegogo campaign page HERE.

Groundswell's new farmer training programs were established with the support of the USDA's Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Grant #2010-49400-21799. It's a shame that this great USDA program lost all funding in the federal budget fiasco, and we don't mind if you tell your representatives that you think that stinks. Our current supporters include the Appalachian Regional Commission; NYS Office for New Americans, Park Foundation, and our Members and Donors. Groundswell is an initiative of Learn@EcoVillageIthaca, which is a Project of the not-for-profit Center for Transformative Action, Tax ID 16-0990318.
